Jamaica Rum - Long Pond 2006
Royal Cane Jamaica 2006.jpg

Tasting Notes:

A ruby copper color in the glass, with a distinct nose of wood polish, green banana, ripe pear, vanilla bean, marzipan, and figs. The texture starts prickly with clear notes of ripe banana, salted pistachios, licorice, allspice, Szechuan pepper, and fresh ginger.
Nuts-and-fruit milk chocolate dominates the finish, which is long, and smooth like velvet. Notes of coffee, barrel char, and pear candy add another layer of complexity.

History of the Cask:
This flavorous pot still Rum was distilled in 2006 at the legendary Long Pond Distillery in Trelawny Parish, Jamaica. After batch distillation, the Rum was filled into ex-Bourbon American white oak casks at the distillery, where it aged for 14
years in the tropical climate of Jamaica. In 2020 the cask traveled the Atlantic to the United Kingdom, where it was re-casked into a first-fill ex-Bourbon cask for another 2 years of continental maturation in the historic docks of Liverpool.
